Introduction


This course prepares registered nurses for leadership in acute medical surgical clinical nursing. It enables nurses working in this area to keep pace with the increasing demands of the expanding body of knowledge and treatment modalities currently reflected in medical surgical nursing.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites


A degree in nursing or equivalent, non-degree entry will be considered on an individual basis. Registration in Division 1 with the Nurses Board of Western Australia.

Recognition of Prior Learning


Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis upon presentation of a portfolio detailing evidence of professional, clinical and academic accomplishments.

Duration and Availability


This fee paying course is one year part-time study only.

Additional Course Expenses


Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
