170609 v.5 Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) (Honours)

BSc(Hons)(Curtin)

Introduction

This course enables students to extend their knowledge of current academic research methodology in the fundamental and applied areas of mathematics and statistics. This will be demonstrated through studying specialised units and the conduct of a supervised research project and presentation of an honours dissertation.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Refer to Admission into Honours Degree Programs and Regulations for Honours Degrees (General Information section).

Duration and Availability

The honours degree program is one year full-time study. Two intakes are offered each year, in March and August. Prospective students should note that places may not always be available for the August intake.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
