Introduction


This course is designed to develop Aboriginal students' creative abilities as artists and to provide a qualification enabling them to undertake a university degree program in the visual arts.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites


Available only to applicants of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent standard University entry requirements for Associate Degree Programs, successful completion of the Curtin Aboriginal Bridging Course.

Specific Requirements


Entry is conditional on the presentation of a satisfactory portfolio of previous art work.

Note


Alternative pathways are available for mature age students. Students who do not meet these requirements may still gain entry by completing the Curtin Aboriginal Bridging Course or equivalent.

Recognition of Prior Learning


Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability


This course is two years full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Additional Course Expenses


Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study. Some units within this course may have a field component, for which costs may be incurred.
