Syllabus: Formal Context and Considered Responses. Architecture Studio includes two integrated components: Design and Methods. Component 1 Design: Studies in the physical and social context of buildings and building groups. Projects focus on established constructed environments and designing new buildings in such contexts. In-depth studies of existing context as a means of understanding the human environment and exploring and imagining ways of adding to such environment. Medium scale public buildings in established regional settlements. Getting to know local regions, their histories and exploring their potential futures. Component 2 Methods: investigation and application of physical modelling of relevant contexts and precedents.
