Syllabus: History of mental health, mental illness and psychiatry; critique and application of psychiatric diagnoses; mental health consumer perspectives; the range of recovery approaches, principles and practices; definitions of rehabilitation; international perspectives on mental health recovery; critical thinking within mental health and psychiatric fields; legal frameworks and discourses in mental health and psychiatry; the impact of stigma related to mental health issues; power relations within mental health practices and processes; interprofessional approaches to mental health practice, culture and diversity in mental health.
