Syllabus: This unit is an introduction to financial and management accounting and sets the basis for students to pursue further studies leading to degrees in commerce and business. The unit will provide students with an understanding of the basic concepts in accounting, the recording of business transactions, preparation of financial statements, the analysis and interpretation thereof, and an introduction to management accounting for decision-making in business enterprises.
