Syllabus: Introduction to sources of renewable energy. Photo-voltaic (PV) energy conversion; cells, modules and arrays. Principles of wind energy conversion. Modelling and simulation of renewable energy generators. Supply of electricity in remote areas. Energy storage. Stand alone photo-voltaic systems (SHS). Hybrid energy systems. Sizing of renewable energy systems. Economics of renewable energy systems.
