Syllabus: A course of lectures, practical sessions, calculations and experiments on the physiology of vascular plants (mainly angiosperms). The course will emphasise aspects of plant ecophysiology, in other words, the physiological aspect of plants in response to their growing environment. Topics include: mechanisms and constraints on transpiration, plant water relations and water-use efficiency, drought responses, inorganic nutrition and specialised modes of uptake, plant growth analyses, and photosynthesis.
