Syllabus: Design, layout and optimisation of surface and underground mines for metalliferous and coal deposits. Mine design and optimisation software packages will be introduced. It is a project-based learning course. The aim of this course is to introduce students to the principles of mine design and optimisation for metalliferous and coal deposits. The course also introduces students to the mine design and optimisation software which will assist them to undertake feasibility studies for mining projects.
