Syllabus: An overview of biological basics followed by an introduction to the engineering principles involving biochemical reactions, including enzyme kinetics, aerobic and anaerobic respirations, metabolic pathways, cell growth models. The engineering processes involving cell culture including separation, purification and recovery of biological products.
