Syllabus:	Surface Phenomena: surface and interfacial tension; surfactants, micelle formation and their applications in drug formulation. Emulsions, multiple and microemulsions; their properties and applications. Formulations of drugs for delivery to the skin, rectum and vagina. Sunscreens, suppositories, and pessaries. Sterilisation; its considerations and procedures. United States Pharmacopeia.(USP) and other standards in relation to sterilisation. Formulation of parenteral products. Colloidal drug delivery systems including liposomes, niosomes, micro and nanoparticles and dedrimers.
