Syllabus:	The primary intention of this component is to explore various aspects of the fundamentals of typographic design. Through exercises students experiment with the design principles of negative/positive relationships and scale as they pertain to contrast andasymmetry, symmetry, cropping, repetition, economy and contrast of shape, size colour and direction.
