Syllabus: Open to students in the Professional Writing Major who are in their final semester of study or have made satisfactory progress towards the completion of the Major. Provides an opportunity for students to gain intensive industry experience at the point where their professional writing and publishing skills should be close to the peak of their student abilities. Students are placed 2 days a week over 12 weeks or 3 days a week over 8 weeks. The unit is assessed jointly by the workplace supervisor and the academic supervisor. As part of their assessment, students are required to use their skills to organise the placement in consultation with the unit coordinator.
