Syllabus: This unit introduces the students into the principles and practice of research work including research project planning, organisation, implementation and management as well as preparation of a major research report and delivery of research project seminar. Each student will be assigned an individual research topic and a research supervisor, who will provide guidance on the experimental work. Workshops on writing a major research report and organisation and presentation of a research seminar will be provided.
