Syllabus: Understanding of the highway pavement as a load bearing system, including the theoretical background, the technology of component materials and construction and maintenance methods. Pavement design and choice of pavement types. Materials of construction for rigid and flexible pavement. Methods of test control. Surface water drainage design. Flexible and rigid construction and design. Maintenance. Surface dressing, repairs and riding: quality assessment.
