Introduction

This double degree provides students with a broad but integrated background in Geographic Information Science and geography focusing on a wide range of human and environmental issues. It equips students with the technical competencies and analytical skills to find employment in a variety of business, research, government and educational contexts involving analysis, modelling and management of spatial information.

One TEE mathematics subject.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Durability and Availability

The course is four years full-time study and may be undertaken on either a full-time or a part-time basis.

Course Organistation

Students undertake both the Geography major and the Geographic Information Science major. Students enrolled in the double degree program may elect to transfer to a single degree course in one of the two areas. In this event, the relevant Head of School shall determine the amount of credit to be transferred to the single degree.

Professional Recognition

Graduates may obtain membership to the Spatial Sciences Institute.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
