Syllabus:

Ultrasound - the physics of ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound. Transducers - beam formation and focussing. Basis of image formation, A, B and M mode instruments, real-time instruments, Doppler ultrasound, duplex scanners, colour Doppler, image recording, three-dimensional imaging, new developments. Artefacts, quality assurance. Integration and application of medical imaging science and instrumentation with reference to ultrasound imaging. Introduction to ultrasound scanning and an overview of all procedures. Techniques for upper and lower abdominal structures and obstetrical examination.
