Syllabus:

Fundamentals of nursing practice. Client interaction, communication with the older adult, problem solving and documentation. Scope of Nursing Practice and Decision Making Framework (SONP-DMF). Activity and exercise health pattern. Critical thinking and principles of evidence based practice. Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) competencies. Aims of nursing education. Introduction to microbiology - modes of transmission, standard precautions. The art of caring. The nursing profession, professional role identification and role(s) of the nurse. Reflective learning.
