Changes in chromosome structure. Variation in chromosome number. Mutagenesis. Genetic recombination in bacteria and viruses. Transposable genetic elements. Somatic cell genetics. DNA. Genetic engineering. Hybridisation techniques. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Applications of PCR and Southern blotting.
