Syllabus:

Field mapping, equipment, positioning and recording. Dip and strike determination. Section measurement. Map interpretation exercises. Concepts of photogeology and remote sensing. Elementary photogrammetry, geological interpretation of aerial photographs,and production of geological maps from such photographs. Application of data sensed from satellites. Field mapping exercise involving a local area of approximately two square kilometres with comparatively simple geology. The map is to be submitted by thelast day of the semester in which the work is undertaken.
