Introduction

Futures thinking challenges the assumptions that are made regarding how society and business are organised. This course encourages students to look beyond the normal information sources and to integrate knowledge in new and exciting ways. A multidisciplinary approach is taken to the development of the intellectual tools required for imagining the future and improving decision making in organisations.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A bachelor degree and a minimum of one years work experience. Applications may be considered from those who do not have a bachelor degree provided they have significant work experience at a recognisable level of responsibility.

Duration and Availability

This course is four months full-time or equivalent part-time study and is offered on a trimester basis. The course may be completed internally or with a mix of both internal and online study. Course Organisation

The Graduate Certificate in Future Studies is awarded on satisfactory completion of four units. These may be credited as the first stage of a Master of Business Administration for students subsequently accepted into this program.

Career Opportunities

There are many opportunities to apply the skills learnt in this course to the workplace. These opportunities exist in private, government and non-government organisations and in the areas of management, strategy, policy and planning.
