Introduction

This course is designed to focus particularly on current issues in sports law and administration. The increased complexity of the sports administration environment has resulted in the significant need for professionally qualified administrators in this field. This course provides theoretical and practical knowledge in legal, management and administration issues faced by today's sports administrators.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A bachelor degree (or equivalent) in business, commerce or a related field from a recognised tertiary institution. Alternatively, a minimum of two years relevant experience in the sports or other suitable industry.

Duration and Availability

This fee-paying course is normally available over two semesters part-time study.

Professional Recognition

Graduates will meet the academic requirements for membership of the Institute of Sport Management and the Australia and New Zealand Sports Law Association.

Career Opportunities

Graduate will find employment in both the public and private sectors including organisations such as Department of Sports and Recreation, national and state sporting organisations, institutes and academies of sport, professional league clubs (AFL, NRL, ARU and NBL), recreation centres and event management agencies.
