Syllabus:

Sociology of community and environment. Concepts of community and society. Marx, Weber and Tonnies on community and social change. Australian settlement patterns and changing patterns of production. The role of community studies in Australian social anthropology and sociology. Class and power in urban Australia. Social differentiation and differential access to urban resources. Ethnic segregation and ethnic communities.
