Syllabus:

Solidification of metals and alloys, phase diagrams, structure of alloys, heat treatment and properties of steels. Dislocations and plasticity of crystals, deformation of metals and heat treatment. Testing of metals, fatigue, creep, failure, joining of metals and corrosion. Wear mechanisms and selection of materials for ore handling and processing machinery.
