Syllabus:

This unit involves the monitoring of the student's professional practice during the period of enrolment in the GDPHP. Each student will document their practical involvement/experience in the key areas of public health as covered by the other seven units(and the workplace attachments) they complete in the course. Evidence will be accumulated in a professional compendium. The compendium will consist of the professional journals they prepare for each of the other seven units and relevant supporting materials that are associated with the practical/work experience component of those units (eg reports, documents, program plans, policy documents and intervention materials they have contributed to developing). In addition, the compendium must include a professional journal from at least one workplace attachment in the course in which the candidate gained an understanding of the historical and social determinants of health in indigenous populations and culturally secure approaches to achieving health advances. In addition they will self monitor their progress in attaining the course competencies via an evidence guide.
