Syllabus:

This unit covers the assessment, management and reporting of public health risks, and the origins and development of environmental health and environmental health impact assessments. Students will be expected to engage in work-based activities which develop their understanding of toxicological-identification and evaluation of hazardous substances and wastes, environmental epidemiology - methods and use in risk assessments, environmental contaminant assessment and management. They should also understand the integrated and holistic methods for environmental audits and the nature of ecologically sustainable development.
