Syllabus:

Introduction to network security. Cryptography - encryption principles, algorithms and key distribution, Public-key cryptography and message authentication. Authentication applications - kerberos, X.509 and directory authentication. Electronic mail security-PGP and S/MIME. IP security. Web security - requirements, SSL, TLS and SET. Network management security - SNMP. Intruders and viruses. Firewalls - design principles and trusted systems.
