Introduction to basic economic concepts. Marginal cost, opportunity costs, economic evaluation, economic growth, macroeconomics, microeconomics. Linkages between economy and ecology, the environment and health as resources and the concept of sustainable development. Budgeting, resource allocation in health care. International aid, demography and sociopolitical factors in sustainable development and health.
