Topics from: Phonon formalism, prediction of thermal properties. Band theory of solids and behaviour of semiconductors. Fermi surface description of metals. Superconductivity. Dielectrics and ferroelectrics, magnetism, diamagnetism, paramagnestism, ferromagnetism and antiferromagnetism. Magnetic resonance. Defects and disorder in crystals, dislocations, surface and interface properties.
