Syllabus:

Celestial Mechanics - two body system, three body system, applications to the solar system, N-body systems, general perturbations, gravitational encounters, sphere of influence, applications to globular clusters and galaxies. Supernovae and gravitationallensing - type I and type II SN, macro and microlensing. Astrophysics of galaxies - our galaxy, orbits of stars, the local group, spiral galaxies and elliptical galaxies. Cosmology and general relativity - Hubbles law, general relativity and Friedmann-Robertson-Walker models.
