Sampling and evaluation - types of samples, obtaining samples, error and bias, reduction and preparation. Granular material sampling. Gy's formulae. Estimation of ore reserve. Mass grade relationships and tonneage/grade curves. Grade control in production. Distribution of assay values. Introduction to statistical methods.
