Syllabus:

The theoretical and practical application of electrotherapeutic agents including the applied physics, physiological effects, indications and contra-indications and dangers associated with conductive cooling and heating, radiation heating and phototherapy, including lasers, ultrasound, electrical stimulation including interrupted direct current and low and medium frequency stimulation. Normal reproduction. Physiotherapy management for preparation for childbirth. Postnatal rehabilitation. Physiotherapy rehabiltation for gynaecological conditions and incontinence. Sexuality. Middlescence. Menopause. The ageing process, environmental factors, psychosocial aspects of health promoting behaviours. The psychosocial effects of chronic diseases. Gerontology, geriatric and working with the aged. Cultural beliefs and attitudes.
