Syllabus:

Overview of tasking concepts. Real-time scheduling - rate monotonic algorithm and priority ceiling protocol. Static versus dynamic scheduling. Real-time kernels. Real-time case studies - cruise control, robot controller, elevator control and distributed factory automation system. SCADA systems. Quality control. Fault tolerance. Formal methods. Specifications, testing and maintenance of real-time systems. UML.
