Historical perspectives of language education. Theoretical perspectives of language education including psycholinguistics, socio psycholinguistics and cultural literacy theories. The relationship between linguistic development and cognitive development. Theories of language acquisition. Language assessment, learners of English as a second language and adult learners. Instructional strategies and curriculum development in oral and writing education.
