Introduction

This major introduces students to sociology - the study of human society and interaction. It involves an intellectual search to find the 'general' about society and social change in the 'particular' of historical events and everyday life. The foundation units in the first year lead to specialist units in second and third year such as technological change, health and illness, media and communications, deviance and crime, the arts, gender studies and education.
