Introduction

This course has been designed to provide effective learning opportunities for a selected group of current or potential senior executives. It involves the introduction of "just-in-time" knowledge from a range of business disciplines to address complex and applied business problems and developments.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Applicants will normally hold a bachelor degree in any discipline with a credit average, or above, and have a minimum of seven years work experience including at least three to five years of budget or management responsibility for a team, department project or business unit. Participants will be sponsored by their employer who agrees to mentor a work-based project by the participant.

Specific Requirements

Students are expected to have access to a suitable personal computer and software for the duration of the course. The Graduate School of Business will assist in this regard. This is used to support the demand for a professional standard of presentation of all assessable work or presentations and the development of competencies in the use of management information systems. Students without basic competence in personal computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheets will need to acquire these skills prior to the commencement of the course. The Curtin Business Centre provides a short course with outside providers of training in this area available.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are not considered within this course.

Duration and Availability

This fee-paying course is one year full-time in a series of three intensive modules. A period of residential attendance is required. In special cases, applicants will be able to negotiate to complete over two years.
