Introduction

This major leads to a professionally recognised qualification in both librarianship and records management. It covers the ability to locate, retrieve and critically evaluate information, gives an understanding of theoretical foundations of information creation and management, especially in a technological environment, and the processes and materials of professional work, in order to meet the needs of client and industry groups. To complete the major, students undertake 16 units in librarianship and corporate information management. Additionally, students select four to six (4-6) elective units in the same subject area as a minor stream and two to four (2-4) information studies optional units, to a total of eight units. Completion of this major leads toa Bachelor of Arts (Librarianship and Corporate Information Management).
