Syllabus:

Reproductive physiology and population genetics, formulation and implementation of breeding programs for farm animals to fit production plans and market specifications.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- The knowledge to explain the physiological control of the reproductive cycle, discuss how reproduction can be manipulated to improve animal reproduction, conduct a breeding soundness examination of an animal and design a breeding program that incorporates the principles of genetic improvement.
