Syllabus: | Utility and preference, consumer choice, applications and extensions of consumer choice theory, production and cost, the firm and the industry, market structures, game theory, factor markets and distribution of income, market failure, asymmetric information, externalities and public goods. |

Unit Outcomes: | On completion of this unit students will have gained an understanding of the microeconomic foundations and workings of a modern market economy and have the ability to apply microeconomic theory to problems related to managerial and public-policy decisionmaking. |
