Syllabus:

Considers the theory and practice skills involved in professional supervision within the human services. The seminars will incorporate a lecture format and group discussion. The range of experiences of participants will be used to enhance learning and application of theoretical frameworks.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Knowledge of the theoretical models of supervision in the social work and human services professions. Practically applied skills in professional supervision. Explored the constraints, dilemmas and problems that can arise in supervision. Knowledge of evaluation and assessment methods in supervision. Explored the use of self in supervision. Identified the differences between supervision and management.
