Syllabus:

Concept of a small business as applied to pharmacy. Financial management. Basic accounting records, pharmaceutical records, office procedures. Planning for a new venture. Concept of planning, purchase of freehold. Purchasing and stock control. Personnel management. Marketing, demand forecasting.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have - Demonstrated an appreciation of the fundamental requirements of financial management in a community pharmacy. Developed the ability to more effectively manage the business of (a) pharmacy. Developed an appreciation of the business factors to be considered when buying and selling a pharmacy. Demonstrated staff management, stock promotion and management skills
