Syllabus:

Industrial relations theories and practices. The roles of the government, management and employees. A history of industrial relations in Australia. The role of the union movement. Industrial action and conflict. Negotiation processes. Enterprise bargaining. Collective bargaining. Employee participation. The future roles of industrial relations.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On completion of this unit students will have - Gained an understanding of the role of Industrial Relations in the Australian context. Gained an understanding of the actors in the Industrial Relations framework and the parts that each actor plays. Critically analyse the future of Industrial Relations and its components.
