Syllabus:

The political economy of bureaucracy, including advanced state theory (pluralist, neo pluralist, new right, elitist, corporatist and marxist), critical organisation theory and decision theory, new right political economy or bureaucracy (especially Niskanen's bureaucratic oversupply model), theories of public budgets, measures of bureaucratic efficiency, and accountability and control mechanisms.
