Syllabus:

Human rights in the school curriculum. Human rights and citizenship studies. Human rights issues in other curriculum areas (for example - history, literature and Indigenous studies). Teaching human rights through educational processes, for example - democratic structures in schools, dealing with bullying, recognition and respect for Indigenous students. Human rights in university curricula, and in university management.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On completion of this unit students will be able to plan and implement human rights education programs in formal education settings. They will understand human rights in education in relation to curriculum, and also in relation to educational structures and processes.
