Syllabus:

Laboratory Component - Development of imaging skills and application of geometric principles and axial relationships in relation to radiography of the chest, abdomen, extremities, shoulder and pelvic girdles, thoracic cage and spine. Handling of instrumentation for general contrast procedures, mobile and theatre radiography. Clinical Component - Clinical experience in radiography of the chest, abdomen, upper and lower extremities, and the shoulder and pelvic girdles.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On completion of this unit, the student will be able to demonstrate radiographic practical skills of the trunk and extremities and to develop clinical expertise on Category 1 and 2 patients.

Unit Assessment Breakdown:

Clinical Centre Evaluation 35%, Laboratory Workbook 10%, On Site Clinical Evaluation 30%, Supervisor Evaluations (2) 10%, Workbook 15%. A pass in each component is mandatory. This is by grade/mark assessment.
