Syllabus:

Cross-cultural health care provision, primary health care, principles and application of health promotion, education and adult learning theory. Principles of community development, action research, reflective practice and change theory. Meeting procedures, consultative and collaborative processes.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have - Identified promotional enhancing factors and addressed barriers that could impact on the implementation and success of health promotion strategies in isolated practice settings. Instigated and guided the consultative and collaborative process with community members, for identification of priority health issues and implementation of health related programs. Designed and developed a community health program including strategies for implementation and evaluation, using community development and action research principles. Implemented and evaluated community health education programs.
