Syllabus:

Basic petroleum geology. Wave theory, processing issues, types of noise. Well logs, synthetic seismograms. Velocities, Depth conversion. Structural styles. Seismostratigraphy. Direct hydrocarbon indicators. Attributes. Interpretation in practice.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Been introduced to seismic interpretation, especially as used in the oil industry.
