Syllabus:

The process of business research, Problem definition, types of quantitive research methods, Measurement concepts: scales, reliability and validity, Data collection and questionnaire design, sampling, Data analysis, Development of research proposal.
 

Unit Outcomes:

Produce a quantitative methodology appropriate to a particular research problem. Discuss appropriate methods of collecting, analysing and presenting data. Prepare to conduct a piece of either desk or field research. Conduct a piece of either desk or field research. Familiarise the student with appropriate useage of various software (SPSS etc.), statistical tools and their correct interpretation. Prepare student for candidacy of doctoral studies.

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Knowledge of methods used in business research. Developed a research proposal.
