Syllabus:

An insight into fluctuations in financial markets in both East Asia and the USA. Formulation of monetary policy, innovations in the financial sector, the productivity debate and the new knowledge economy and the key determinants of fluctuations in stock prices. An opportunity to examine current data and trends in stock, bond and currency markets.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have- Understood the forces driving stock and bond markets. Become able to apply theoretical knowledge to current data and trends. Become able to appreciate the power of monetary authorities and institutions in influencing financial market volatility. Ability to engage in analysis of current financial trends.
