Syllabus:

Well inflow equations for stabilised flow conditions, real gas flow, natural water influx, immiscible displacement and pressure maintenance, averaging of reservoir properties (Pseudorisation), production forecasting, reserve estimation, miscible displacement and introduction to enhanced oil recovery techniques.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On completion of this unit students will have an understanding of basic well testing and analysis techniques, the behaviour of aquifers during production, material balance in hydrocarbon reservoirs and immiscible and miscible displacement of hydrocarbons. Covered secondary production methods and processes in detail. Estimated recoverable hydrocarbons, designed secondary recovery methods, evaluation and forecasting of reservoir performances.
